As the launch date unveiling of the Google Pixel Tablet gets closer, more details about the Android tablet emerge. The latest reports suggest the Pixel Tablet will feature a Hub Mode that could turn the device into a Google Nest Hub.

Google’s Pixel Tablet is one of the most anticipated devices for 2023, along with the new generation of Pixel phones. The device’s design is already spotted in the Google I/O 2022 and Facebook Marketplace. The actual tablet will also land sometime in 2023.

Recently, images of a speaker dock surfaced online that is said to belong to Pixel Tablet. The accessory was labeled as a “Google Pixel Tablet Stand.” The dock could also serve as a charging station for Pixel Tablet. But what makes this dock more appealing is a so-called “Hub Mode” enabled once the device is placed on the dock.

Hub Mode turns Google Pixel Tablet into a smart display

It was first in October 2022 that some outlets reported that the Pixel Tablet could double as a smart display. Other reports also suggest that Google is developing two docks for the Pixel Tablet. Yet, we know that one of these docks can charge the device and serve as a speaker when it’s not in Hub Mode. This way, the dock can remain useful when not paired with a device.

Google might want to create an all-in-one device by adding Hub Mode to the Pixel Tablet and ditching its Nest Hub devices. Some reports also suggest that the Android tablet might have a Pro version that features a Tensor G2 chipset. The Pixel Tablet Pro could be a device that offers tablet and smart display functions simultaneously.

Pixel fans have been waiting for a Pixel-branded tablet for quite a long time, which has created many expectations from the device. Based on the current details in hand, Pixel Tablet would be a device with high-end specifications and some Google-exclusive features. The device could also go live on Google I/O 2023 in May.
